This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information across all our platforms and associated services, including:

Primary Domains: www.satoplayer.com, app.satoplayer.com, and api.satoplayer.com.
Content Delivery: sato-image-content.b-cdn.net and sato-video-content.b-cdn.net.
Marketplace Listings: Our official plugins on Framer (framer.com/marketplace/plugins/sato-video-player/) and Webflow (webflow.com/apps/detail/sato-video-player).

For the purposes of the GDPR, we act as a Data Controller for our registered users (customers) and a Data Processor for the content (videos) uploaded by our users.

2. The Information We Collect

A. For Sato Customers (Account Holders) We collect information necessary to provide the Service, ensure tax compliance, and generate accurate invoices:

Account Registration: Name, Email Address, and Password (encrypted).
Communications: We use Sendgrid for OTPs and Zoho Mail for support.
Security: If enabled, we store 2FA recovery keys and access tokens (encrypted).
Billing & Tax Data (Collected on app.satoplayer.com): To process subscriptions and generate legally compliant invoices, we collect your billing address, phone number, and optional GST number (for Indian users) directly on our platform. This data is required for:
- Invoicing: Generating tax-compliant invoices for your records.
- Regional Routing: Directing you to the correct payment flow (INR via Razorpay or USD via PayPal).
Payment Processing (Redirect): While we collect billing details for invoicing, we do not store or process your credit card or bank details. Once you click "Subscribe," you are redirected to:
- Razorpay (India): Which handles the secure payment transaction.
- PayPal (International): Which handles the secure payment transaction.

3. Lawful Basis for Processing

Contractual Necessity: To provide the player and process subscriptions.
Legal Obligation: We collect billing and GST data to comply with Indian Tax Laws (GST Act) and international accounting standards which require valid customer details on invoices.
Legitimate Interests: To detect your IP address solely for regional pricing and fraud prevention.
Consent: For non-essential cookies (GA4) on our landing page.

International Transfers: Since our primary servers are in India, data from EU/UK users is transferred outside the EEA. We ensure data safety through Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), as detailed in our Data Processing Addendum (DPA).

5. COOKIES & TRACKING

Essential Cookies: We use cookies on app.satoplayer.com strictly for authentication and API access tokens.
Marketing Cookies: We use Google Analytics (GA4) on satoplayer.com. You can "Reject All" via our cookie banner to disable this tracking.

6. DATA RETENTION & DELETION

Current Policy: Data is removed immediately upon account deletion.
Future Policy: We may retain data for up to 180 days post-cancellation to allow for account recovery before permanent destruction. Users may request immediate deletion by contacting us.
